Christianity started out in Palestine as a fellowship; it moved to Greece and became a philosophy; it moved to Italy and became an institution; it moved to Europe and became a culture; it came to America and became an enterprise

  1. I agree to a point with Chris. However, I would say that it would not be a stretch to make these large, overarching statements.

But I would also say to keep in mind that the Fellowship in Palestine never disappeared but instead weaved its way around, blowing like the wind here and there. What the greater culture at hand did with Christianity once it settled in is what that culture did with it, but this cannot be a sweeping statement about what ‘all’ or ‘everyone’ did with Christianity within their culture.

We have reached the point in the history of Christianity spoken of in Revelation 3:14-22. Read it. Believe it.

It is beyond time to circumcise our hearts and with prayer and fasting prepare for the Holy Spirit that will come in the same power as on that beautiful morning when the Comforter visited the fellowship in Palestine.
